MHAC Update: Second visit to Ojodu Junior Grammar School
"Teaching children about mental health is one of the greatest gifts we can give them. It's a gift that will keep on giving throughout their lives." - Dr. Jennifer Hartstein.
As part of our Mental Health Awareness Campaign to Schools in Lagos State, we were with the Students of Ojodu Junior Grammar School on the 1st of February, 2024, for exciting counseling activities.
We enlightened the students on self-awareness, empathy, mindfulness, and resilience and showed them how meditation, music, and journaling can be used as tools for therapy, self-care as well as mental health promotion.
The keen eyes of the student audience all seemed to agree with our team of Counselors on the negative effects of stigma just as their loud cheers attested to their affirmative stance on the need to speak up for ourselves or support our friends and loved ones going through stress, anxiety, depression or other forms of mental illnesses.
Mental health issues are not to be limited to certain age brackets. Join or support us now to catch them young.
