About Me

Blessing Edet is a health promotion specialist and mental health advocate dedicated to improving the well-being of children and young people, particularly those from underserved communities. Her personal experiences of childhood trauma and the resilience she developed deeply shape her motivation to create safe spaces and support systems for vulnerable children. As the founder of Blaze Health Foundation, she leads transformative mental health initiatives aimed at reducing stigma and providing support to children, teenagers, and young adults. Through BHF's different programs and initiatives, she has introduced creative tools and therapeutic activities to help students build emotional resilience and process their emotions and experiences. Blaze Health Foundation (BHF) has trained over 200 teachers to recognise behavioural changes in students and to create supportive school environments, and has made positive impacts on over 800 students in public schools and more than 100 parents in Lagos State, Nigeria under Blessing's leadership. Blessing Edet's passion for this work stems from her deep understanding of the challenges (such as neglect, abuse, and emotional trauma) faced by many children in Nigeria. And she is committed to driving systemic changes, where mental health is not just prioritised for children, but every child has access to the support they need to thrive emotionally, academically, and socially, ultimately contributing to a healthier, more compassionate society.
