Children's Mental Health Awareness Belongs Everywhere—Even in the Market.
Mental health conversations shouldn't be limited to classrooms, hospitals, or offices. They belong in the communities where children and families live, work, learn, and grow.
This August, Blaze Health Foundation is taking children's mental health into the market.
We are bringing mental health awareness directly to Iju Ishaga Market, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos, creating an opportunity to engage parents, caregivers, children, traders, and community members in meaningful conversations about children's emotional and mental well-being.
Why the market?
Because markets are more than places of trade—they are vibrant community hubs where families gather every day. They are also home to many parents and caregivers who may never have the opportunity to attend seminars or webinars, may have limited access to the internet, or may not be reached by information shared on social media.
Many mental health resources are available only online or presented in English, making them inaccessible to many people. We believe no parent or caregiver should be left behind simply because of the language they speak, their literacy level, or their access to technology.
That is why we are taking these conversations directly to the grassroots meeting people where they are, speaking in the languages they understand, answering their questions, sharing practical resources, and ensuring that every parent and caregiver has the knowledge they need to support the emotional and mental well-being of the children in their care.
Our goal is to increase awareness, challenge harmful misconceptions, equip families with practical tools, and encourage early support for children experiencing mental health challenges. We believe that protecting a child's mental health is not the responsibility of parents alone—it is a shared responsibility that begins with informed communities.
Your support will help us:
Reach hundreds of parents, caregivers, traders, and community members with culturally relevant mental health education.
Deliver awareness sessions in languages that community members understand.
Produce and distribute easy-to-understand educational materials and resource guides.
Train and equip volunteers to engage communities effectively.
Connect families with available mental health support and services.
Cover the logistics and outreach costs needed to make this campaign possible.
Every donation helps us bring children's mental health education to communities that are often overlooked but need it just as much.
